Waxing
All our treatments are performed safely and efficiently according to National Health Standards. We recommend scheduling your wax treatment every 4-6 weeks for best results.
We perform two methods of removing hair with the strip wax and the ultra-flexible hot wax.
- Strip wax is a popular method of applying wax thinly over the surface of the skin and then applying a cloth paper to remove the hair against the direction of the hair in the area of the body you want to remove the hair.
- Hot wax with its unique, creamy formula and flexible texture will also give exceptional waxing results on even the most sensitive areas of the face and body.
Hair does not usually start to grow back until 2-3 weeks and your next session for waxing is usually required 4-6 weeks after your original session.
The waxing method of hair removal pulls the hair from its root but does not destroy the actual hair follicle.
Hygiene: All treatments are performed safely and efficiently in accordance with national health standards. Our therapists use gloves and disposable spatulas.
After waxing your skin is very delicate and the following guidelines will help to protect your skin:
- Do not swim for 24 hours
- Play any sports or exercise that causes your skin to become overheated.
- Wash the area gently with medicated soap.
- Apply recommended after-wax lotion or cream.
Sugaring
Based on middle eastern recipe contains only water and sugar, no chemical fragrances or colouring additives.
The sweetest hair removal method – Sugaring is suitable for people whose skin can’t tolerate waxing.
At Dermal Essence we use PANDHY’S™ Sugar Paste which is a sugar-water brew based on old Middle Eastern recipes. And ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD has PATENTED FORMULA.
This preparation is 100% natural, contains water and sugar, with no chemical, fragrance or colouring additives and no lemon juice or any kind of acid.
Therefore PANDHY’S™ products are hypoallergenic and cause no skin irritation. We prefer to use the Mediterranean Paste which has a much firmer texture than Normal Paste. It is excellent for use in warmer and humid climates.
Sugar Paste only sticks to the hair and as a result, it can be applied on the skin repeatedly. It removes the hair completely and leaves no broken hairs in the follicle or red and irritated skin. It also gently removes dead cells resulting in long-lasting silky-smooth skin.
Sugar Paste is massaged by hand onto the skin against the direction of hair growth. The paste is applied at body temperature so there is no danger of burning. The hair is removed in the same direction as it grows allowing even a 1-2 mm long hair to be removed as it surrounds the hair and flows into the follicle ensuring that the hair will not break during depilation.
Electrolysis
Electrolysis is especially effective when there is no pigment in the hair follicle, so is very effective in treating grey and blonde hairs.
Electrolysis uses electronic energy. A tiny needle is inserted into the hair follicle where the undesired hair growth occurs. A current is passed through the needle to the cell responsible for the hair’s growth and destroys the cell.
Electrolysis treatment eliminates hair growth by destroying the target area within the pilo-sebaceous unit of the hair follicle. The papilla, follicle and bulge are all enclosed in the lower two thirds of the hair follicle. Sterile disposable needles are used for all treatments.
Multiple sessions will be required and the outcomes of treatments may be affected by the condition of your endocrine or hormonal health. Some degree of discomfort may be felt during the treatment and topical analgesia may be used for your comfort. Home care instructions are given at your first treatment and you are reminded after each treatment.
Removing hair by electrolysis is a slow progressive treatment. It is the treatment of choice when it is inadvisable to perform IPL treatments.
