Serums affect your skincare routine.
What are serums? They are lightweight, fast-absorbing liquids packed with high concentrations of active ingredients, such as Vitamins, antioxidants, peptides, and acids. These powerful ingredients penetrate deep into the skin, delivering various benefits that can help address specific skin concerns.
Serums are typically applied after cleansing and toning, but before moisturising. This allows the active ingredients to absorb into the skin more effectively, and once a moisturizer (with slow-acting actives) is applied it can seal in the actives from the serum. Your moisturizer and serum should be compatible; the best way to know this is to stick to the same brand.
The benefits of serums are numerous and varied, depending on the specific formulation. For the serums we use at Dermal Essence, I will list the key ingredients in our serums, with their action, the name of the serum, and their action.
